He Will Sustain

'

“Forty years you sustained them in the wilderness, and they lacked nothing. Their clothes did not wear out and their feet did not swell.” Nehemiah 9:21

Again I’m sitting in the dark in our hotel room while my family sleeps all around me. We’ve been on this journey for only 12 days and WOW it‘s been a ride to say the least. We made it to California last Tuesday, and we set foot in L.A. on Isaac‘s first birthday. We spent the day at the L.A. zoo, which is amazing if anyone is ever out this way. California is beautiful and incredibly crazy all at the same time. I‘ve never been somewhere where you have to set aside 20 minutes to travel 4 miles (not joking in the slightest!) But there is a beauty in this place. In our five days here we have gone to the zoo, house hunted, played at parks, sat in traffic, hopped hotels, and spent the day at the Santa Monica pier and beach.

Now I’m going to be very real. Since the moment we crossed the state line of California, the enemy made it very clear that he did not want us here. It has been a constant battle to stay focused on the Lord and His promises and word as we are walking this out day by day. We have been hit physically with infections and sickness. I spent one afternoon in tears at the overwhelming thought of having to keep hopping from one hotel to the next until we find a place for us to live. We have battled doubt, fear, and worry like no other. Matt even got in a little fender bender, BUT (there has to be a but) the Lord has provided every step of the way. Wonderful friends and family continue to encourage us and pray for us. As all the kiddos and I had a nasty belly virus, the Lord blessed us to find a good hotel and great price where we could rest and recuperate. When I was overwhelmed the Lord gave me the verse above. If He sustained His people in the wilderness for forty years, then He can surely sustain (mentally, physically, and emotionally)us during this time of transition. Matt and I began to praise the Lord, if the enemy is attacking us this hard, it is only because of the amazing glory of God that we are getting ready to see. So as we were praising and praying we began to shout and declare in Jesus name that this is our new home, and we will not leave! We serve a faithful God and He promises that He will NEVER leave us or forsake us, and that He will work it all for our good. The Lord reminded Matt in the book of Joshua, that when the Isrealites entered the promised land, they had to fight against their enemies. They didn't get to just stroll in and take possession, but God gave them victory. He never said it would be easy, but when we walk in faith and obedience in whatever it may be that He is asking us to do, we will see His amazing glory! I am so excited to see what He has planned for His children and this world! Thank you all for your prayers and love as we continue to walk this out one step at a time. We love you all so much.

Lord, I thank you so much for your faithfulness to meet us right where we are. Lord give us eyes to see what you are doing all around us and help us not to get focused on the battle. You are our faithful Father who goes before us and paves the way even when we can't see. Help us to trust and rest, and give us all the courage and strength to do what you are asking us to do.We want to see you Jesus more and more in us and the lives around us. In your mighty name we pray. Amen

Love and Blessings,

Becca
